French Toast “Geauxst”

Ingredients:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk (or 1/3 of a cup of Vanilla Creamer, if you don’t have vanilla extract)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon FreshJax ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 8 slices of thick-cut (approximately 1.5”-2” thick) French Pantry Ciabatta bread (Best when a few days old. The less moisture in your bread, the better it will be.)
  • Butter or oil for frying
  • Bee Friends Roasted Honey Pecans
  • Orange/Orange Zest (Optional, but highly recommended)
  • Fresh Blackberries

Instructions: Step 1

Step 1: Prepare the Batter:

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract (optional if you use Vanilla Creamer), cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Step 2. Heat the Pan:

Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter or oil to coat the pan.

Step 3. Dip the Bread:

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side. Make sure the bread absorbs the mixture but does not become too soggy.

Step 4. Cook the French Toast:

Place the soaked bread slices onto the preheated skillet. Cook until golden brown on each side, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Step 2: Plating

Remove from the skillet and keep warm in an oven set to low heat if necessary.

Top with blackberries; Spoon out the pecans and honey and drizzle. This will serve in place of syrup.

Finally freshly grate the orange peel over your dish adding a little or a lot depending on your preference.
