Roselle Hibiscus Iced Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dried roselle hibiscus petals
  • 6 cups water
  • Honey or sugar (to taste)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)
  • Lemon slices (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Bring the water to a boil and add the dried roselle hibiscus petals.
  2. Simmer for about 5–7 minutes until the water turns a rich, deep red color.
  3. Remove from heat and let it cool. Strain out the hibiscus petals.
  4. Sweeten to taste with honey or sugar.
  5. Serve over ice, garnished with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices if desired.

 Roselle Hibiscus Jam

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh or dried roselle hibiscus calyxes, chopped
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, add the chopped roselle, sugar, and water.
  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
    Cook for 20–25 minutes or until the mixture thickens to a jam-like consistency.
  3. Add the lemon juice and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Pour into sterilized jars, seal, and let cool before refrigerating. Perfect for spreading on toast or serving with cheese!
Roselle hibiscus sorbet

Roselle Hibiscus Sorbet

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dried roselle hibiscus petals
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Fresh raspberries (optional garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Boil the water and add the dried roselle hibiscus petals.
  2. Let it steep for 10 minutes, then strain and discard the petals.
  3. Stir in the sugar until dissolved and add the lime juice.
  4. Pour the mixture into a container and freeze for about 3–4 hours, stirring every hour to break up ice crystals, or use an ice cream maker if available.
